Annalie van Doorn is a Dutch fashion designer and artist whose work is defined by a dynamic play from 2D abstract shapes to 3D sculptural silhouettes and prints.

Born in Ede, the Netherlands, she developed an early interest in both marine biology and fashion, which grew into a broader curiosity for research and the world around her. Driven by curiosity, she has travelled across Asia, South and Central America, and Japan, where engagement with local communities and craft traditions shapes her research-based approach.

Craftsmanship and sustainability are central to her work, with collections primarily developed through upcycling and the use of natural and waste materials. Her work explores how we perceive value, questioning consumption and material worth while looking at the knowledge and craftsmanship passed down through generations.

A graduate of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (2023), her collection Après nous, le déluge was a homage to her grandmother’s extravagance while exploring the psychological impact of status in the West.

Van Doorn was a finalist at LICHTING and BIAAF, and her work has been presented at Amsterdam Fashion Week and featured in Vogue. During her internship at BOTTER, she contributed to the development of key silhouettes for the Spring/Summer 2023 collection.

She was awarded the L-AIR Artist in Residence in Japan, where she researched traditional leather-making techniques and worked directly with local craftsmen. The residency led to new ways of working with leftover Japanese leather, combining traditional techniques with her own approach to print, pattern and form.

Her work continues to evolve through research, experimentation and collaboration, often starting with a material, a place, a craft tradition or a question of value.
